BREWER, MAINE – CES, Inc., a Maine-based firm of engineers, environmental scientists, and land surveyors, is pleased to announce that four interns have joined the company for the summer.

“CES is proud to provide internship opportunities to young aspiring professionals across our state. These experiences help demonstrate that there are outstanding careers with great benefits right here in Maine,” said CES President/CEO Denis St. Peter. “Internships are a great way for young people to test whether they are interested in pursuing a career in a given subject while providing real life work experience that cannot be taught in a classroom.”

Nicole Ireland of Hampden joined CES in March in the Environmental Division while completing her senior year at the University of Maine in Ecology and Environmental Science.  Following her graduation in May, Ireland has worked for CES as a full-time intern working on natural resources field work, environmental reporting and permitting, environmental assessments, environmental inspections and GIS work.

Joining CES’ Machias office this summer is Drew Greenlaw, a sophomore studying surveying at the University of Maine.  Greenlaw hails from Eastport and is a graduate of Shead High School.  He is translating his education to hands-on field work with the Machias team of surveyors from small residential surveys to larger boundary surveys.

Based in CES’ Lewiston Office, Hannah Slattery joins the Environmental Division as a part-time intern primarily focused on a watershed assessment study for the City of Lewiston including datalogger maintenance, geomorphologic assessment, flow measurement, water quality monitoring and stream sampling. Slattery is from Laconia, New Hampshire and will be a senior at Bates College in the fall pursuing degrees in Geology and Ecology and Earth Systems.

A senior at Hampden Academy, Emily Colter joins the CES Brewer office assisting the Marketing Department part-time.  Colter is interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business and Marketing.

A 2015 and 2016 Top Ten Best Places to Work in Maine, CES, Inc. provides civil and environmental consulting and land surveying services. In business since 1978, CES employs approximately 70 professionals across seven offices located in Brewer, Bar Harbor, Lewiston, Machias, Presque Isle, Saco and Waterville.
