Survey Technician (Brewer Office)

The function of the Survey Technician is to collect land information using survey instruments, conduct reconnaissance, mark property boundaries, conduct construction stakeout, and assist Land Surveyors with computer-aided drafting and math computations. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of appropriate principles and practices of surveying, modern survey equipment, and GPS equipment.

The position requires working for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail in highly analytical situations requiring an extremely high degree of accuracy and use of tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. Must be able to distinguish different shades of color. The position also requires extensive walking and standing, as well as lifting and carrying of equipment. Some travel is required.

High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by three years in land survey work, and demonstrated organization skills; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions, ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing. AutoCAD experience is preferred, but not required.
