Wastewater / Storm Water Discharges
"Veazie has developed a good five year plan to comply with the State’s MS4 General Permit and has an excellent agent, CES, that fully understands Maine’s MS4 stormwater program.  Working together with your other MS4 partners, your consultant and the DEP, I am confident that Veazie will easily reach full permit compliance during this five year permit cycle."
- David Ladd, Stormwater Coordinator, State of Maine DEP

Stormwater Detention PondCES, Inc. provides permitting, design, construction monitoring, environmental monitoring, and overall compliance assistance to clients who have wastewater and storm water discharges. The wastewater discharges may be a result of process, agricultural, industrial or domestic wastes. The storm water discharges may be a result of new development, municipal separate storm sewer systems (MS4s), construction, or industrial activities.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has been permitting wastewater discharges under the State=s Waste Discharge License (WDL) program and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been the permitting authority for storm water discharges using the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). However,  recently DEP received delegated authority for  storm water discharges. Now, wastewater and storm water discharges are regulated under the Maine Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (MEPDES). During this transition, CES, Inc. has participated in the advisory committee and stakeholder group meetings to help form the general permits and stay abreast of the changes.

CES, Inc. is currently providing compliance assistance to: 7 out of the 10 regulated MS4s in the greater Bangor area, numerous clients that discharge storm water from industrial activities, new development and construction activities, and several facilities that have waste water discharges.

We would be pleased to assist you with your wastewater and storm water needs. Our Civil Engineering department offers various other Storm Water related services that may be of interest to you. For more information please contact us.
