RECENT PROJECTS
IN THE NEWS
Over the years, CES has had a strong relationship with the University of Maine. In fact, 34 of our 64 employees are alumni of the University.

In late 2007, the College of Engineering at the University approached CES about contributing to the University’s Campaign Maine: People Opportunity Impact initiative. This is a $150 million fundraising endeavor to support University endowments, scholarships and learning. The College of Engineering asked CES for a significant contribution to provide long-lasting support in the form of a naming gift to the College’s Environmental Chemistry Lab.

The Environmental Chemistry Lab is an important component in the training of environmental engineers. Funds from the contribution will be endowed with the University of Maine Foundation to provide new lab equipment, maintenance, staff, research project support, and a perpetual source of income to the College of Engineering.

At its last meeting, the CES Board of Directors (BOD) voted to support this request which will create the new CES Environmental Chemistry Lab. The contribution matches one of our long standing corporate goals of fostering innovation and educational opportunities for youth. It will help strengthen our ties with the University and future engineering students for many more generations and it will provide a highly visible and long lasting monument to CES.
